Ravenmere Castle
About this placement
Ravenmere's conservation team maintains over a mile of medieval curtain wall and a range of towers, gatehouses and ancillary buildings. Students gain hands-on experience cutting and bedding replacement stonework in lime mortar, and understand the principles of like-for-like repair in a scheduled ancient monument.

Home to a long-established Northumbrian family, Ravenmere is a working castle with an extensive conservation department. Students gain experience on medieval stonework and traditional lime mortars.

Travel expenses covered up to £70/day given the rural location. Subsidised accommodation available in Rothbury.
